I was getting red screen on Tom Tom navigation and a message “Maps not found”. I found such issues similar to mine: “tomtom installation interrupted”, “tomtom not connected”, “tomtom no maps found”.
I tried like ten more times to proceed with copying, but neither was good. Also bumped into this advices from Tom Tom support (copied for the future): None of these tips were helpful. The only thing I was suspecting was the same USB malfunction error.

So does anyone know where I can either download more recent maps for the device for free or relatively cheap?
I don't mind paying for them if it doesn't cost not too much and they don't get outdated too quickly.

I've got a Tom Tom Go 700, which I got as a gift about 3 years ago.
It's still got the version of the maps it originally came with (Western Europe v606).
I was thinking about trying to update these because I have noticed a few inaccuracies here and there, so I wonder whether this is due to the maps being a bit outdated.
The sat nav is still in good working order so I don't really see the need to get a new one at the moment...though it is bulkier than some of the new ones on the market these days, but that's technology for you lol.
