Dating sims, or relationship simulation role-playing games (RS-RPG), are a video game subgenre of simulation games, usually Japanese, with romantic elements.
They are also sometimes put under the category of neoromance.
If you check here, there's a list (scroll down to the DS section) these are mostly dating sims for girls but some are for girls or guys.


Avoid the DS versions of Pets and Sims 3 like the plague.
Castaway is very fun but extremely short so it may not be worth the money.
