My Linksys WRT120N wireless router stopped working. The lights come on the display, but I can't connectivity. In case it's relevant, the problem started after my ISP had a network outage, which made my modem go out of service.
Hi, a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
Laptop: - Dell Latitude D610 - Windows XP Professional Desktop (hooked up to home cable internet provider): - Asus Essentio Series - Windows 7 - has Netgear wireless router to allow home wifi network I've had no problems getting my Android phone or my kids' i Pods to access the wifi service at home, so I expected to easily use my laptop on the wifi network. I haven't used my laptop in a while (and never on home wifi network, only set up a few months ago), usually stays plugged in to ethernet at work.
Brought it home today, was going to use home wifi and get some work done.
Find your wireless driver right click select uninstall.
Then reboot your machine upon reboot windows will auto re-install the driver for you.I just powered up a Gateway laptop that hasn't been used for several months. I typed it in and it said "Please wait while Windows connects to the wireless network". The number of letters/numbers doesn't match my security key to sign on to the network. I tried that but then it tells me it can't connect to the network. Also in Properties, under Authentication, the box was checked to enable IEEE.... So, I reset the router again, and then connected to the Linksys unsecured network.I wanted to update the system (windows, Norton, etc) but it won't connect to the wireless router. Then that goes off the screen and it goes back to the networks in range screen. I press "connect" again and it asks for my security key again. Not sure what I've done here, but I think I've made a mess... Says "Windows was unable to find a certificate to connect to network". But now it won't let me connect to my IE browser.now able to get network list and router name is in list but stuck on validating identity, what do i need to finish on the laptop in order to get it to login? This will help me to focus instructions for getting you connected. Can you get to a dialog box that shows the "Properties" for your wireless networks. my next project is trying to put office 2003 in but the disk i have is stopping on " can not find yh561411" i guess i have a bad disc.I installed a new modem (Net Gear) and worked with the ISP to get internet connectivity again.
